I miss my old job.

My new boss is a boss. She expects work. She thinks that if we have nothing to do, we should find something to do. In my nothing-to-do times, she expects me to type up an export SOP document, for whom I'm not sure, but she wants it to be done. Althoug hit sounds easy, it's a remedial task and will take a lot of time because there are so many varying factors to each and every shipment I deal with. I have started it and when I have nothing to do I open it and have it there in the background so that when she turns around from her desk I can pop it up front and act like I am working on it. It's just that silly.

She has been sick all week which means that the past 3 days she's only been in the office for about 3 hours. Sweet. Today she wasn't here at all, which was nice because Matt and I don't have to pretend to be doing something when we literally have nothing to do. sitting here though, bored, trying to occupy my time on the WWW makes me miss my old job. I know that if I were still there, and we were this bored and it was this slow, we'd probably be leaving right now, or at least within 30 minutes of now. At this place? Not a chance...we will be sitting here for two and a half more hours, staring at useless information and wishing that we were outside enjoying the beautiful 70 degree weather. It just makes me sad.

I've never had a job with a lull like that. What sort of work is it?
