Two weeks already. Last week at her check-up Kate had lost down to 8 pounds, 14 ounces. I think this was partially due to my inability to keep food in me fgor the first couple of days after my cesarean so my milk production was delayed a bit. This morning at her check-up she was back up to 9 pounds, 6 ounces so I think we are back on track. She goes back just for a weight check next week. She's definitely eating well. Some days she just wants to nurse all day long.
I've been asked how the pets are doing with her arrival. I must admit the cat has been anti-social for the most part. I expected this. When she is in the same room as the baby she just stares at her, probably wondering when this little intruder will be going back to where she came from. No such luck, kitty. Maddie, our dachshund, has been very involved. I sense a bit of protective behavior from her. She gets very upset and whines when Kate is crying. The louder Kate cries, the more Maddie whines and tries to jump up to where she is so she can help. When my Dad came over last week Maddie watched him pretty carefully while he was holding the baby. I foresee Kate and Maddie becoming best buddies. As I type (with one hand), Kate is sleeping soundly in the other. She spends a lot of her time like this. I'll just enjoy it while I can!

I love reading about your beautiful baby girl :) what sweet pictures
What a pudge! She is adorable. Glad the weight is coming back on. Are you doing okay? I know it is not easy recovering from a C-section. Keep those photos coming! Enjoying your walk into parenthood.
