Last night during the first game of the double header, Nick caught a ground ball to third with his fingernail. Of course he got injured at a game that I skipped out on (coincidentally last year when he got a concussion during a game I was absent for that injury as well.). Mandy was at the game and let me know via text that Nick was bleeding. I didn't know how bad it was, but his entire fingernail had bent backward on impact. He was bleeding pretty badly...but he said he still got the out.
It's amazing how much you need your finger once you've injured it. We'll see how long it takes for the nail to fall off. He's keeping a splint on it for now so that he doesn't bang it against something, which would really hurt.
