Today when Nick got home, Kate was quite excited to see him. She reached out for him to be held and she really didn't want him to put her back down. He had to go to the restroom, which really upset her as he sat her back in the floor. I just laughed as I watched her make her way across the living room and down the hallway to find her Daddy. She ended up in the bathroom with him.
Yesterday she did a little bit of spatial reasoning on her own. She was trying to crawl down the hallway with her doll in her hand, but that really wasn't working because the doll was in her way. She'd crawl a couple of steps, stop, look at the doll, and then try to keep crawling. At one point she sat her doll down and took off, but then stopped when she realized she didn't have the doll and went back for it. She sat in the floor for a minute or so with the doll and then suddenly threw it down the hall and followed after it. Guess she figured out how to get what she wanted! I wish I had been filming that little stroke of genius.

Isn't it great watching them figure stuff out on their own? Such a great reminder of how perfectly we were created to discover and learn! Can't wait to hear more!
