My husband finally reached 30! He's no longer a twenty-something. Now he's a real grown up. He's very quick to remind me that I'll always be older though.

His birthday celebration sort of lasted all weekend long. Friday he took the day off work and played golf with his uncle and stepfather-in-law. Friday evening his best friend Brad treated him to a John Mellencamp concert. On Saturday, we headed over to Southlake and had lunch at Planet Burrito before heading to the Apple store. Nick finally got the blessing from his boss to get a company iPhone. Of course he got an iPhone 4, so now I'm jealous. However I learned that I'm eligible to upgrade in January, so for me 34th birthday you can bet I'll be heading back to Southlake. After Apple came his birthday surprise: I have purchased him a one hour private golf lesson at the Edwin Watts Golf Academy. (Thank you, Groupon.) Kate and I dropped him off and went shopping while he learned how to fix pieces of his golf game.
Today we went to my mother-in-law's house for lunch, dessert and presents. Nick requested fried chicken, mashed potatoes and rolls, as well as a cherry pie instead of a birthday cake.

Kate helped Daddy open all of his presents, and we had a fun afternoon. I'd say his birthday weekend was a success.
