Halloween just about took it out of me. Man, what a week. It was all worth it on Friday evening when the kids (and adults) started showing up and oohing and aahing over our handiwork. I love it when the kids shout out the names of characters they recognize. "Spongebob!!" "Transformers!!" "E.T.!" (One little girl called him "E!") We get asked a million questions, all of which we answer and smile along. It's sort of annoying having to answer the same ones over and over, but only a little bit. I even took names this year to email out the link to my Flickr account. People were having some difficulty with photographing the pumpkins, mostly because they didn't know how to use their camera properly for such a task.
Then I headed out to the ranch for a little scrapbooking with the girls. I think I made it there at 20 til midnight. It was a long day! I set up my stuff but didn't start working on pages until Saturday morning. A girls got to sleep you know. I finished 35 pages, 12 of which were 8x8s for a gift album, and made 6 cards. I started cutting out some stuff for some Christmas cards I'm going to make but I ran out of time, so I'll have to finish those this week. Scrapping again was nice - it was the first time I had done any of it since the last retreat at the ranch back in May. I really need to get busy.
Part of the problem is the set up at home. I'm not digging the way we have my scrapbook nook set up, and I think that I'm about to do a major overhaul on the home office. I want an L-shape desk with a hutch badly, but they're pretty pricey and I already have a desk. I'm going to go look at getting another desk to creat my own L-shape and just live without the hutch for now. I've also been perusing Craigslist to see if I can find something local that would be perfect and cheaper than brand new. Right now I'm in brain storming phase, but it's only a matter of time before I implement my new idea. Once I get something like this in my head, well, it comes to fruition. It's been 2 years since I rearranged any furniture in my home; it's about time, right?
I will have to scan or photograph my LOs from this weekend (and some from May for that matter) to share. Have you been crafty lately?
