2nd trimester

I've finally made it into trimester #2! I am now officially 14 weeks. I have to say, now that I'm out of the first (didn't want to jinx it) that I think I had a relatively easy first trimester. My only issue with actual throwing up was due to a stomach bug, and the nausea had subsided quite a bit in the past few weeks. I've slowly been gaining more energy which means I'm able to stay up later at night. I know it could have been far worse (based on the many stories and experiences people felt the need to share with me) so I am blessed and thankful for that.

Yesterday we went to the doctor again and we finally got to hear that precious little heartbeat! At my last appointment we were unsuccessful in hearing it but I was only 10 weeks at the time and he said it was hit or miss at that stage. 160 beats per minute...wow! I could have listened to it all day. Oh, and for those of you who believe in all the old wive's tales, a fetal heartbeat of 160 bpm should mean I'm having a girl. We'll see in about a month if that tests true. I don't really believe much in those things but some people swear by them. For instance, the pencil-on-the-end-of-a-string test? A guy at work did that to me a while back and it came back "boy". So we have conflicting results already. Anyone have any other tests or old wive's tales they want to try out on me? I can be your guinea pig.

A couple of people have mentioned they wanted to see a pick of my new ring...you know, the fabulous new "diamond" I'm sporting. *snicker* Well I haven't taken an actual photo of it but I found one online that is pretty much the same...the stone mesaures 5mm across. In real diamond terms I'd guess it would be a couple of carats, but I really don't know. It's cute and serves it's purpose. One of my friends at church noticed it on Sunday and she asked if she could borrow it once she got pregnant and her ring didn't fit anymore! I guess we'll just pass it around.

That's so cool! I remember wanting to buy a fetal heart beat monitor so we could listen to it all the time. It's such a great sound!

Love it! I never even thought of a fake ring. Shold have! I am so excited for you. This just thrills my soul to know you are expecting.

Miss you and thanks so much for all the comments you leave on my blog. Makes me feel good to know someone is reading!
