Eighty-nine

Ever have one of those days when you have decided that you are surrounded by idiots and you are the only one who knows it? I had one of those yesterday. My entire day was ruined by a co-worker who simply refuses to get it. He's been with the company since March and yet somedays his performance, or lack thereof, suggests that he's in his second week. I lost it yesterday and yelled at him. Maybe I didn't outright yell...but I know I expressed my displeasure in his lack of common sense for the situation at hand.

I've never had a lot of patience when dealing with incompetence....or as I like to simply put it, stupidity. I inherited this trait from my mother, and while I don't think I possess it in quite the strength she does it's there. (Love you Mom.) I figure if she were placed in my shoes dealing with this guy she probably would have offed him by now. At least he's still living.

By the time 5 o'clock arrived, I was so ready to head home and leave the frustrations of the day behind for an evening of bowling. Next week is our last night of the league, and last night we were all fighting for a spot in the championship match. It was not to be for my team. Not only did I perform like a 5th grader who just learned how to bowl, but my entire team seemed to struggle to get it together. We just couldn't make it happen, and the pins were not doing us any favors. Our opponents were on fire and probably bowled one of their best nights as a team, so that didn't help our plight. As it turns out, I am unable to take out my daily frustrations in bowling. All I did was get inside my head and was never able to recover. I won't even admit to my score in the last game, but if you are paying attention at all you already know what it is.

On the up side, Nick had a tremendous last game. He went into his 10th frame with a 170 and if he bowled three strikes in a row (called a turkey) he would end his game with an even 200. He's never bowled a 200 or more before so we were all rooting for him and trying really hard not to throw him off his game. Wouldn't you know, he did it! We were all cheering and he was quite proud of himself. At least someone in my household still has it!

Yay for Nick! And don't worry, we all have an off day sometimes. Your score was still better that what I usually get when I bowl!
