Great friendships

We are blessed at our congregation to have a very large group of young married couples. They have become a source of strength, a place for laughter, a shoulder to cry on, brothers and sisters.
We play together, and we pray together. We are all equally blessed to have each other. That's Jenn and Stacey. Jenn and her husband are leaving us soon for Kansas, though none of us is really ready to let that sink in. Stacey is the mother of this adorable creature:I could just eat her up.That's Jonathan, and if there is a baby within 50 feet of him you can almost be assured that he will snatch that child out of the hands of whoever is holding it. Jonathan loves babies, much to his wife's dismay. It's not that she dislikes babies...but they've only been married since April so you can imagine her hesitation for her new husband to be so eager for an infant to hold. She usually makes him give the baby back to whoever he stole it from, but Mandy wasn't at this particular cook-out because she had to work so he was free to misbehave. That's Susan and Jessy, and they are so wonderfully made for each other it's kind of amazing. She's crazy and fun and loud and boisterous, and Jessy is quiet and a bit of a thinker. They make quite a team. That's my sweetie attempting to help Ashley score at Foosball, which Nick will readily admit he's not really ever played before. Ashley and Nick get along just fantastically because they are both academics. Ashley teachers government and history and really seems to enjoy the pure process of learning...and Nick is a big math nerd and used to be a teacher. If the two of them ever start talking about teaching or school or fill-in-the-blank, you can be sure that I'll have to force Nick to end the conversation so we can go home. I think they could talk for hours.

Someday I'll introduce you to everyone else...

What a wonderful group, a wonderful day and wonderful blessings, Brandi! Soon your friend will be able to snuggle with YOUR DAUGHTER! Wooho! Love saying that!

I'm glad you have such a great group at church Brandi. It really is a blessing. We don't have such a group at our church for our age. We have lots of young marrieds and lots of senior saints but couples with older kids are sparse in this congregation. I'm always telling Armond that we're going to start doing things with the Senior Saints, they're always doing something fun. :)

I love all the descriptions, but especially the one of Jonathon.

Great post. Perfect job expressing all the great things about our friends. We can't take these blessings for granted. "We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers." -- 1 Thess. 1:2
