29

Nick turned 29 on April 1st. He's such a young 'un. He likes to remind me, often, that I'm older. Older and wiser, baby...that's right.

We celebrated on Friday night at his mom's house. He requested home made fried chicken, mashed potatoes and rolls. No one makes fried chicken or rolls as good as Nana. It may not be the healthiest meal, but it's right up there in my top 5 favorites.

After stuffing our faces with all that comfort food, we had some cookie cake and ice cream before the birthday boy opened his gifts. I'm glad Nick prefers cookie cakes to regular cakes because this one was yummy.Of course everyone really just wanted to play with Kate. That's really the whole reason for having a get together now. "Birthday party" is just a clever cover.
