Morning Playtime

Kate's morning routine so far in life has stayed fairly consistent. It's the one thing that hasn't changed all that much. She generally wakes up between 5 and 7 for breakfast, and after about 45 minutes or so she's back to sleep. I've been taking advantage of that to go back to bed myself and we typically get another 2-3 hours of shut eye. That's priceless.

It was a great set-up, until about a week ago. Kate has now decided that after her first feeding, it's playtime. I guess that has something to do with being able to sit up and enjoy her toys more or something. My only problem is that she didn't push back her wake up time to a more suitable hour for Mommy.

It's a lot of fun to watch her discover new things and choose favorites. She loves this plastic kiddie photo album her Aunt Heather gave her for Christmas. I haven't even put photos in it yet because Kate keeps finding a way to drool inside of the sleeves. She's a talented kid.

I do miss sleeping later. I'm not ashamed to admit that a couple of times this week when Kate went down for her morning nap, so did I. It's a nice perk of being a stay-at-home Mom of one child.
