Did you think I had forgotten all about You Are What You Keep? I haven't mentioned it since the beginning of the month, but we've been keeping track. I even have Nick on board. He's constantly asking me "Does this count?" as far as stuff coming in or going out.
We decided the easiest way to keep track of how much we were getting rid of was to keep a sheet on the refrigerator door. One column is for "remove", and one column is for "obtain". Then as stuff went out of the house or stuff came in, we marked it on the list. No consumables counted towards our goal, because the whole purpose is to get rid of clutter, not toilet paper.
We managed to clean out/recycle/trash 228 items in January. We obtained 78. So for now, our net total is 150. I don't think that is terrible. Of course, I'm going to have to pick up the pace if I expect to net 2011 things this year.
On another note, I began working out with some new Biggest Loser DVDs this month. So far I really love them. As of this past Friday, which is weigh in day, I've lost 11 pounds.
