We decided not to plan much for our first day in Bethesda because we knew we would be so tired from driving. Once we arrived, and the girls played and then napped, we took them outside to play on the playground and then out in the grassy area to blow bubbles. Heather and Will live in a cool high rise apartment complex with all sorts of fun amenities and even a valet service for their guests.
We decided after cooking turkey burgers and butternut squash french fries (so good, by the way!) that we would head down to downtown Bethesda to walk around for a bit and then go to Georgetown Cupcakes, the cupcake place that is featured in the TLC show DC Cupcakes. We went mainly for the attractive of it, since their famous cupcakes and all, although getting to eat a cupcake is a good thing too.
I had a Chocolate2, which is a Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a whipped callebaut chocolate frosting topped with a fondant flower. I know that "whipped callebaut chocolate frosting" doesn't sound like anything, but just know that it is a big fat layer of chocolate heaven. I probably could've skipped the cupcake itself and just had triple the frosting.
Kate was so exhausted and fell asleep in the car on the way back. Olivia has taken quite a liking to Nick so she's been his little buddy since we got here and when we walk around she wants to hold his hand. just call him the Baby Whisperer.
