Vacation Day 1: Tennessee here we come!

We are currently taking a family vacation to visit Will, Heather and Olivia in Washington, DC.  As is our typical road trip protocal, we left Fort Worth after all the scary tornadoes on Tuesday, April 3 around 9:30 pm.  Our destination was Smyrna, TN to Lefty and Nancy Barnett's house to nap, rest, and recharge before heading out from there to make the rest of the trip on Wednesday evening.  They are very special friends of the family, and we are so blessed that their door is always open!
Nancy was very excited to have Kate come spend the day with her.  She had a basket full of Easter eggs ready to hide, she took us to the park and library to let Kate play after being cooped up in the car for 12 hours, and she had a bed with fresh sheet ready for the grown ups to nap on since we didn't get to sleep all the way like Kate did. It was perfect.
We left Smyrna around 10 pm Wednesday evening and made it to North Bethesda around 11 1/2 hours later.  The rest of the day we are taking it kind of easy, nothing real energetic planned, but starting Friday we are hitting the ground running!
