Monday in Vegas: Nightlife

Monday night we went to dinner with Tom and Mike, both from Anchor, and two of Tom's former coworkers from Indiana named Kerry and Lynn. We walked down the Strip to Paris and took advantage of the dinner buffet there. It was quite tasty and the best part of a buffet is sampling all kinds of different things that you would never order a whole entree of elsewhere. The dessert area was huge - I had a macaroon while I walked around taking it all in, but then I spotted the made-to-order crepe station and knew that was it - so I had a crepe filled with apples, drizzled with caramel sauce, sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with a big spoonful of whipped cream. It was awesome.

After dinner we all parted ways - Tom and Kerry had show tickets, Mike and Lynn I guess came back to the hotel, and Nick and I set out to explore. We made our way over to Caesar's Palace and walked through,
passed by the Mirage,
then headed across the street to The Venetian,
the Cake Boss!
That's on the CEILING.
watched the volcano show at The Mirage from the Venetian walkways,

made our way back up and over to Bellagio and went inside to see the Chihuly glass ceiling as well as the flower gardens - oh the flower gardens!!,
went outside the Bellagio to watch the fountains,
then back up and through The Cosmopolitan,
Liberace's Car, of course.
and finally back to the tram at Excalibur so we could get back to our hotel. It was around 1 am Vegas time when we got back, but the streets were busy as ever. That kind of boggles my mind at how this city never really sleeps. The streets are always full and at night it's even worse with the stripper card vendors every ten feet.
