Father's Day 2014

Just like we do every mother's and father's day, we made sure this year to get a picture of Kate and Daddy together. Kate also made sure to get photos of herself with her Elsa doll too. This was important. For lunch, we headed over to Yiayia's house for some ribs and chicken, potato salad, and all the fixings. We followed that with pie and ice cream. Kate insisted she take her gift for Daddy to Yiayia's house instead of giving it to him at home, so that's what we did.
Before school let out this year, Mrs. Lisa had the kids make a father's day present as well. She even gift wrapped them for us. Kate was excited to give Nick his "Dad Rocks" paperweight, which she carefully explained was for him to use on his desk so that when it was windy the papers wouldn't blow away. She also wrote "I love you. Kate" in the card all by herself, although I had to spell for her.
After we stuffed ourselves and all the gifts were open, Bill cleaned out some old tool boxes from the storage shed. Some of them were his, some were Nick's grandfather's, but all were well used and some pretty old. Gerald and Nick each left with a few toolboxes full of toys. Gerald commented that it was like a "rusty, sweaty Christmas" out there.
