Her Christmas Tree

A couple of nights ago we put up our Christmas tree. We decided this year to use the artificial tree. Although my husband is very much an advocate for a real tree, I knew that Kate would just pick little pieces of the tree off and eat them. If she discovered the water underneath, well that was an additional problem. I was quite pleased to pull my artificial tree down. I love that it's perfect in shape and it holds the heavy ornaments without drooping, unlike a real tree.To keep Kate from playing with the big tree as much as possible, we also set up a tiny little tree that is to be hers. I purchased some plastic Christmas balls and we let her help decorate her tree. She took all of the ornaments over to Daddy so he could hang them for her.Now when she goes over to the big tree to start messing with it, I can tell her no and direct her to play with "Kate's tree." So far it has worked quite well.
