until I received an email stating that my photo had won first place!My prize is this:
a Flip SlideHD Camcorder. Um, cool!It's decked out with the YouNews logo and graphics, but I don't mind. I'm pretty excited to try it
out on Kate. We traveled over to the WFAA headquarters in Dallas today to pick up our prize. The ladies in the lobby were so sweet and just oohed and aahed over how cute Kate was. They took my photo with my prize, as well as me and Kate together with the camcorder. I had to sign some release stating that they could use my likeness, so who knows if I'll show up on their website or not. I was also informed that the contest was not a local contest, as I had assumed, but it was a national contest. The person in charge called the local station to let them know that the first prize winner was local to their area, so they were pretty excited about that. I was too, since I had no idea that it won out of about 1,000 entries!So thanks, WFAA!
