Today we held Kate's first birthday party at her yia-yia's house (Nick's mother). It was a family affair and we had a house full of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The kids enjoyed some play time before we started opening gifts. Kate sat in my lap for the gift opening because she'd never opened presents before, and I wasn't sure that should would really catch on. She pulled tissue paper out, sometimes, so big cousin Kylie was happy to help her open all of her stuff.
She got lots of fun new toys from everyone and some cute clothes and new boots. She also got some cash from her great uncle!
We had cake, cupcakes, goldfish, and more, but that's all for a separate post.
