Updating and sharing

Kate had her 15 month appointment on Monday. She got three shots, but the good news is that this completes her vaccinations for now so no shots at 18 months. She weighed 22 lbs, 13 oz and is 31.25" tall. She's at 75% for height and 50% for weight.

She's learning and doing so many different things now. She completely gets patterns. If I normally do something a certain way, she expects it to be done that way every time. It's so weird and cool to watch her figure out the world. She's started helping with the laundry. When we put clothes in the dryer, you have to hand her the wet clothes a piece at a time so she can put it in the dryer for you. Sometimes she helps with the whole load, and sometimes she gets tired of that game before you finish it and runs off.
She's also been on a puzzle and book reading kick lately, which is all right by me. I loved to read as a child, and I hope that Kate does too. I think she will. Each night she and Nick read several books after bath time, and often during the day she wants me to read as well. She doesn't sit still long for me though, but she'll sit with Daddy for a while. She likes her puzzles too and is getting very good at putting the pieces in the right spots.
Today, I caught her staring at a square of sunlight that was shining from the window onto the deep freezer. She was touching it and trying to figure out where it came from. I love how curious she is.
In other news, I had a photo published! A few months ago I received an email from a lady who works for Cityguide, and she wanted permission to use one of my photos from our San Francisco trip in their 2011 guide. I agreed and she said if it made the final cut she would tell me and also send me a free copy of the San Francisco Cityguide. Today I received my email stating that they used my photo and my copy would be in the mail soon! The guide is also available online, at
http://www.sanfranmag.com/cityguide, and my picture is on page 70. Here's a screen shot:
and here's the picture a little bit bigger.
How cool is that?

Super cool Brandi {congrats!} ;)

Kate is so fun to watch - even if it's only through your stories and still pictures. She's amazing! :)
give her some hugs for me! ;)
