Tennessee

We are currently in Smyrna, Tennessee for a few days of vacation and friend visiting. One of Nick's high school buddies is getting married on Saturday, and he really wanted to come so we had ourselves a little road trip. The drive up was fairly uneventful, save for the red light that
Nick ran at 2 am when he realized he took the wrong exit for a potty break and was trying to get back to the freeway.

Oh, and the puking. Kate apparently chose today to get a stomach bug, and she has thrown up several times this morning. The first time we were not in the car; we had gotten out at a park to eat our breakfast and stretch out legs when she decided it was time. The second time, Nick stopped in the middle of the street, grabbed her and let her puke in the road. The third episode was on my watch, and it was a really special event of throwing up all over herself, ME, and a booth at Red Lobster. We are now home and she is asleep while Daddy happily plays golf with his buddies, puke-free. I, on the other hand, had to start a load of laundry.

In between sickness though she seems perfectly happy and fine, when she's not alseep. She hasn't had any food all day, but for now we are going to keep it that way.

We are staying with some of Nick's family friends, Nancy and Lefty. They so generously are putting up with us until Sunday night, puking kiddo and all. Nancy has a beautifully landscaped back yard and this morning we spent a great deal of time looking at the flowers and watching the birds and squirrels. It was so nice and cool, compared to back home at Fort Worth.
