Nick and I spent a night in McKinney for the Lone Star Bash, a large Munzee gathering. Munzee was started in McKinney, so it is pretty much covered in Munzees and there are lots of places to find them. (Munzee is a geolocation game, similar to geocaching.) On Friday night, the Bash went to the State Fair to Munzee and have fun. Several people were experiencing the Fair for the first time - in fact, some of the people who came were experiencing America for the first time. I was kind of amazed but several people flew in from various places in the UK as well as Australia! Of course there were plenty of folks from different states there as well. Munzee is extremely popular in Europe, so I guess it's not surprising, but still.
Tracee and Ray Austin are the couple who introduced me to Munzee. Here they are with us and another guy from Europe.
On Saturday we spent most of the day at Gabe Nesbitt Park in McKinney, after eating a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel. They had some games set up as well as plenty of Munzees to capture. We grabbed lunch downtown McKinney at a local place called Spoons, and visited the Munzee HQ before finally calling it a day and heading home to pick up Kate. The festivities lasted through Sunday, but we didn't want to miss church for Munzee so we headed home early. It was a fun weekend though and we met lots of neat people.
